Our Schools

Attendance

Two women in bright pink tops and one in pearl-adorned jeans stand in front of a desk with cabinets in the background.

Our attendance clerks would like to share some important reminders about attendance at the high school level. Unlike elementary and middle school, every single class period counts toward both your child’s attendance record and their academic credit. That’s why it’s so important that students are in class consistently.

Whenever possible, we encourage families to schedule medical appointments in a way that allows students to attend part of the school day, before or after their appointment, so that their attendance is not heavily impacted. If you ever notice that your child has been marked absent in error, please reach out directly to their teacher so the correction can be made quickly.

We all know that showing up is half the battle, and when students are present, they set themselves up for success, not just in grades, but in building the habits that carry into college, career, and life. Consistent attendance sends a powerful message: that education matters, and that every class, every day, makes a difference.
