Hope Squad is a school-based, peer-to-peer suicide prevention program where students nominated by their classmates as trustworthy are trained to recognize signs of mental distress, provide support, and connect struggling peers with trusted adults and professional help, rather than acting as counselors themselves. Its mission is to reduce youth suicide by fostering a supportive school culture, educating students, and building connections, using methods like the QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) training.
